I’m Philip A. Wasserman, a Santa Clarita-based attorney focused on resolving family law matters through mediation and collaborative divorce.

Divorce and parentage (paternity) cases can be overwhelming—but they don’t have to be combative. My practice is dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate these challenges in a respectful, efficient, and cost-effective way. Whether through full mediation or as
a legal resource for self-represented individuals, I provide clear guidance every step of the way.

In addition to working with couples in mediation, I assist people who choose to represent themselves in divorce or paternity cases, helping them understand the process, prepare necessary documents, and make informed decisions that protect their rights and long-term interests.

I’ve had the privilege of helping clients from all walks of life—teachers, business owners, firefighters, homemakers, law enforcement, technology workers, and those in Hollywood industries—achieve fair outcomes outside of court. Additionally, as “Of Counsel” to The Reape-Rickett Law Firm in Valencia, I will provide referrals to top family law litigators at the firm when a case requires litigation.

Because my practice is focused on mediation, collaborative family law, and helping self-represented parties navigate the family court system, I’m able to offer individualized attention and practical, solution-oriented support. My experience includes serving as a mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court, representing minor children, and serving on the San Fernando Valley Bar Association’s Family Law Executive Committee.
